Short version: your files stay yours, we process them and immediately forget them, and a licence is a one-time purchase with no account attached. The rest is detail.
ChordStamp reads a tab file you upload (.gp3, .gp4, .gp5, .gpx, .gp) or text you paste, analyses the harmony, and returns an enriched copy with chord names, fingering diagrams and optional extras. It also offers free browser-side tools: a library manager, a learning hub, practice-file generators and a tuner.
ChordStamp is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any tab-software vendor.
You keep every right you had in anything you upload. We claim no ownership and no licence to your content beyond the single, automatic act of processing the file you asked us to process and sending the result back to you.
By uploading, you confirm that you have the right to process that file: that you created it, own it, or are otherwise permitted to make a copy of it for your own use. Please don't upload material you have no right to process.
Chord names and harmonic analysis are factual observations about music. We add them; we don't claim ownership of your file because of them.
Each request gets its own temporary folder on the server. The file is processed, the result is streamed back to you, and the whole folder is deleted the moment the response is sent, including on every failure path. We keep no copies. There is no library, no gallery, no sharing feature, and no way for anyone else to reach a file you sent.
We log only metadata: file size, format, bar count, track count, processing milliseconds. Never filenames, never titles, never musical content. See the Privacy Policy.
"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the service, not of the purchaser. We intend to run ChordStamp for a long time, but we can't promise immortality, so here is the honest deal:
If the tool doesn't do what you expected, email within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you. You don't have to justify it. The free tier exists so you can try before paying.
Please don't: attempt to break, overload or probe the service; automate bulk requests beyond the published limits; resell access; or use the service to process material you have no right to process. Rate limits and daily caps exist to keep the service available for everyone, and we may suspend access that clearly abuses them.
We host no musical content: nothing is stored, indexed, or served to third parties, so there is nothing here to take down. If you nevertheless believe the service is being used to infringe your rights, email the contact address with details and we will respond promptly and cooperatively.
The service is provided "as is". Chord detection is an informed algorithmic reading of a file, not a guarantee of musical truth. It can be wrong, and it deliberately stays silent rather than guess when the evidence is thin. Always keep your original files; we recommend never overwriting an original with an output.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us, which for most people is zero, and at most the price of one licence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost work or lost files.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions; where that is the case, these terms apply as far as they legally can and no further, and nothing here affects statutory consumer rights you may have.
If these terms change materially, the "last updated" date changes and the notice goes on the site. Continuing to use the service after that means the new terms apply. Changes are never retroactive for a licence you have already bought.
